Who is responsible
The data controller is the publisher named in the legal notice. Questions about your data, and any request to exercise the rights below, go to the same address.
What we hold
Only what the site actually needs. Everything except your email address and your date of birth is optional.
- Your email address — the only way to sign in, since there are no passwords.
- Your date of birth. This is the one piece of data the whole site is built on: every number is derived from it.
- Optionally, your time and place of birth and your full name at birth. These unlock more of the reading and nothing else.
- Your display name, and optionally a photograph, a one-line description and a longer description — whatever you choose to write about yourself.
- Messages you send to other members, and the reports you make about profiles.
- Anything you send through the contact box.
- Ordinary server logs, kept briefly for security and troubleshooting.
Why, and on what basis
- To run the service you asked for — signing you in, calculating your numbers, showing you in the directory if you are listed, carrying your messages. Basis: performance of the contract between us.
- To keep the site usable and safe — rate limits, sign-in codes, moderation of reported profiles. Basis: our legitimate interest in a service that is not overrun by abuse.
- To count visits, if you agreed to it. Basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time from the footer of any page.
A note on what birth data reveals
A date of birth is ordinary personal data. What you write about yourself might not be: a description mentioning your health, your beliefs or your relationships falls into a more protected category, and by writing it in a public profile you are choosing to make it public. Please keep that in mind — the profile fields are optional precisely so that you can leave them empty.
What we deliberately do not do
- We never publish your exact date of birth. A listing shows your life path number and, if you gave a birth name, your expression number — and nothing else, because the full set of numbers would let someone reconstruct the date.
- We never publish your personal year. Which years are strong or weak for you is not for other members to see.
- We never publish your email address or your place of birth.
- When you compare yourself with someone who is not a member, their details are used for that reading and then discarded. They never agreed to be stored here, so they are not.
- Photographs are re-encoded when you upload them, which removes the location and camera data that phones embed in image files.
Who else sees it
Other members see only what your listing and your profile page show, and whatever you write to them. Nobody sells or shares your data for advertising.
- Our hosting provider, as a processor. The servers are in the European Union.
- Google Analytics, only if you agreed to it, and only page-level statistics with your IP address truncated. Nothing about your birth data, your messages or your profile is sent there.
Cookies
The site sets a small number of cookies that make it work at all: one to keep you signed in, one to protect forms against forgery, one to remember your language, and one to remember your answer to the analytics question. These are strictly necessary and do not require consent.
Analytics cookies are set only after you agree, and never before. You can change your mind at any time from the footer.
How long we keep it
- Your account and profile: until you delete them.
- Sign-in codes: ten minutes, then they expire; expired codes are cleared out.
- Messages: until either you or the other person deletes their account.
- Reports: kept after the reported account is gone, without the link to it. A record of a decision that no longer says what was decided is not a record.
- Database backups: the last ten, rotated on each deployment.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, and take it elsewhere. Write to the address in the legal notice.
Deleting your account does not need to go through us: the button is on your profile page, it works immediately, and it removes your profile, your photograph and your birth data. Reports about you are kept without the link to your account.
If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the CNIL (cnil.fr).
